urrently Somalia experiences a host of environmental issues. Up to date, there exists very scarce and unreliable environmental data owing to the protracted Somalia civil war. To address these existing environmental needs, Priority Research Group conducts meticulous environmental research by identifying cross-cutting environmental issues relevant to all sectors in Somalia.

We use such crucial information and data for policy advocacy, attracting donor funding and raising environmental awareness in the society.In addition, we participate in joint needs assessments for Somalia with respective stakeholders such as the Federal Government of Somalia, UNEP, United Nations Development Group and World Bank and use the gathered environmental information to form the basis of a Somali Environmental Information Centre.
